Chris Isaak opines to the Honolulu Weekly about Eyes Wide Shut, Stevie Nicks, and Hawaii. And of course western shirts:
I love snap shirts. I always stop at Rockmount Western Wear when I’m in Denver and end up buying a bunch of cowboy shirts. I guess my taste in shirts has been the same since I was a kid.
And speaking of Chris Isaak and Etsy, Bandito Rockabilly’s Etsy store sells custom cowboy shirts in cool prints, modeled here by none other than Chris Isaak himself!

Many thanks to our good friend JKE for sewing the upcycled fleece lining into the mittens on her fancy sewing machine.
In other news, last Monday we were “Just Chillin'” at Joe’s Pub with the Bo-Keys, featuring a good friend of Cousin Craig’s, Scott Bomar.
Finally, what week wouldn’t be complete without an up-skirts shot of the most famous lady in America:
Thank you to Mr. Vintrowear for that inspired photograph.
And in case you’re wondering how the Etsy store is going, well, it’s hopping! Don’t forget to check out vintage cowboy shirts at the Vintrowear Etsy store. And the full selection is also available at Vintrowear.com.

“Each photograph features a rancher whose family has been working the land since statehood or longer. They are there in Baxter’s pictures, their weathered faces reflecting long lives of hard work on the land. They are there in sweat-stained cowboy hats, snap-button work shirts and Wranglers cinched with fist-sized belt buckles.”
Case in point this grizzled statesman in a weather-beaten Wrangler pearl snap, with the trademark W stitching on flap pockets, only its well-worn collar points betraying its age and status as a rancher’s work-horse wardrobe staple.
Watch an interview with Scott Baxter:
The exhibit is definitely worth a look, for fans of Arizona, ranchers, and cowboy shirts alike. A donation to the project is tax deductible. This exhibit is a moving preservation of the Old West way of life that still perseveres.

It’s just a cryin’ shame that Johnny Depp won’t get to star in “The Lone Ranger,” for a whole passel of reasons, not least of which is that: (a) he would look hot in a cowboy shirt, and more importantly, (b) the sight of People’s 2009 Sexiest Man Alive in western wear would be sure to spark a worldwide trend that would keep Vintrowear in the black for years to come.
Sigh. He sure is a good-lookin’ man.
