Kate and William Wear Cowboy Hats for a Rodeo in CanadaPopSugar – An Australian paper reports on English royalty at a Canadian rodeo.  The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge donned western shirts for the Calgary Stampede.  According to the Huffington Post, Kate wore the ALICE by Temperley London Armonia Blouse and “Wills, who apparently unlike every guy we know only owns one plaid shirt, repeated his button-down from the day before.”

Rockmount’s ranch wear will be featured in “Cowboys and Rock Stars” at the Foothills Art Center in GoldenDenver Post – Iconic shirts from the collection of Rockmount’s Steve Weil will be featured in a museum exhibit.

Shirts from the 1940s to the present will be on display, along with portions of the museum dedicated to images of famous people — such as Paul McCartney, Ronald Reagan and Eric Clapton — wearing Rockmount shirts. The museum, too, will feature a tribute to the film “Brokeback Mountain,” in which the stars wore several kinds of Rockmount shirts.

Upshot: I am now keen to interview University of Missouri’s Laurel Wilson, Professor of Cowboy Shirts!

Florida Marlins slugger Mike Stanton hopes to get rid of Golden SombreroPalm Beach Post – Florida Marlins Manager Jack McKeon reminisces about wearing cowboy outfits.

Enough talk about sombreros. Let’s talk 10-gallon hats — because that’s what McKeon used to wear back in 1963 when he managed the Dallas-Fort Worth Rangers in the minor leagues….“We all had cowboy outfits when we traveled. We had 10-gallon hats, cowboy shirts, cowboy trousers and cowboy boots. They loved it. I still got mine,” McKeon said.  “I hated putting them boots on. Now they got a little bit more streamlined. They’re easy to get off and on.”  McKeon has no plans for his Marlins to wear cowboy outfits when they leave Oakland tonight.  “We’re not cowboys. We probably ought to go down in shorts and T shirts,” he said.
